A tale of two lids: How to achieve a daytime smokey eye

Moody eyeshadow is back in style this season, and finding a way to rock it both day and night can be a little challenging when your colour pallet consists of deep reds, ash browns and steel greys/blacks. But every beauty queen knows that its never to early in the day to wear a smokey eye so let me show you how to tone down your smouldering eye into an office appropriate shadow that's definitely safe for work!

The day time smokey eye is essentially a less pigmented version of the typical, night-time, "glamazon" smokey. Start with a peachy tone in the crease and blend softly. Add a brick red tone on top and blend gently. Take a champagne or copper tone and sweep across the lid. Use an ash brown or cool brown tone in the outer corner and aim for a cat-eye like blend. Take a deep brown eye shadow and line your upper lid with it as you would with a liquid liner. Finish this look off with a highlighter in your inner corner and brow bone and a hint of ash brown smudged along your lower eye lid.
